| Our Philosophy:
Norbel believes that children are uniquely different from one another. They learn in different ways at different rates. While true for all children, this statement is especially true for children with learning differences who too often experience frustration and failure in conventional educational classes.
Norbel believes that pupils with special needs learn best when tutored individually in the acquisition of the three Basic R's, and thus Norbel should have available many different materials and methods, with instruction presented in small incremental steps.
Norbel believes that children learn best when they only compete with themselves, feeling satisfaction as they donate their progress, step by step; thus, Norbel should not emphasize competition between pupils.
Norbel believes that children mature at different rates physically and socially, as well as cognitively. Therefore, classes should be multi-aged, allowing every child to enjoy at least one kindred spirit as a classmate.
Norbel believes that the building of self-esteem in a child needs to be programmed as specifically as the building of academic skills, with activities channeled toward self-awareness, self-confidence, self-respect, and self acceptance, each strand a distinct, yet internal component of a positive sense of self.
