Our Mission:
Norbel is a private, non-profit school serving children in grades 1-12 with average to gifted intelligence that have speech and language disabilities, specific learning differences, and/or high-functioning autism spectrum disorders. In this nurturing environment, children learn through a flexible, individualized academic program that is complemented with training in essential interpersonal skills.

Norbel School provides a uniquely effective educational model for students with a wide variety of learning differences. By individualizing instruction, using multiple teaching methods, asking parents to be "first educators" and partner with the school, leading ongoing primary research, and integrating interpersonal skills curriculum into every day's instruction, Norbel School maximizes the academic success of each of our students-and defines excellence in education for all students.

Norbel School is a Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) approved nonpublic school for elementary through high school and an accredited member of the Association of Independent Maryland Schools (AIMS).

Norbel Offers:
• Low student-teacher ratio
• Emphasis on both academic progress and interpersonal skills development
• Interactive and project-based teaching methods
• College preparatory program for high school
• An on-site speech and language pathologist
• Highly qualified teachers for students in grades 1 - 12
• Team approach including parents in the process
